The Last Pictures from Canada

I am finally posting the last of our pictures from our grand adventure in Canada.  They have a very awesome science museum that we discovered our last weekend there.  We loved it so much we went Friday and Saturday.  Almost every exhibit was hands-on.  The girls LOVED it...heck, Daniel and I LOVED it!

Giant Building Blocks

They had a great big area with a stage and backstage dress-up bins and different background scenes.  The girls love to put on shows for us, so this was even better than candy for them...well, almost ;)

We also found this really great Thai restaurant while we were there.  And we had to eat there one last night before returning to Texas.  Well, on Saturdays they do a fun little drawing.  The first drawing is a 50/50 chance whether you get to play the actual game.  We let Eden draw and she picked "Play the game!"  Then there are about 12-15 more eggs with different prizes, the grand prize being "Walk Away - Free Meal"...We let Sage pick that one...guess what she pick?  FREE MEAL!  It was very exciting.  The owners were shocked and excited for us...we felt bad not paying because the food is amazing and the service is even better...so we left a great big tip. :)

That concludes our Canadian adventure.  We will definitely go back.  We have talked about it all summer.  The girls keep asking to go back to Canada.  If it wasn't so cold in the winter I might even consider moving there...:)

Our Last Trip to Banff

Our last trip to Banff was bittersweet.  We already knew we were going to miss going to the mountains every weekend, but we made the most of it.  We spent the whole weekend enjoying the beautiful scenery and even drove up further north into Jasper.  We got to hike up to a glacier and canoe on Lake Louise.  We all agreed this was the best trip EVER!

You can see the snow the wind is picking up off the mountain

Lake Louise - our favorite place :)

We stayed here at the Deer Lodge - so fun, Eden wanted to stay there forever

Lake Louise Gondola - we looked so hard for a bear but didn't see any...although we did see plenty evidence of bears (poop)

You can see Lake Louise from the top

Glacier in Jasper (Crowfoot Glacier I think)
There was still ice on the lakes

Daniel got a good shot of a Mama Grizzly Bear

We saw so MANY waterfalls when we drove through Jasper, every corner we turned there was another waterfall.  So beautiful.

This is the glacier we hiked to.  It was VERY windy and VERY cold, but hey, who many people can say they've hiked to a glacier?

Back to Lake Louise - we took a little hike before getting on a canoe

It was the perfect day for a canoe trip.  The sun was shining and you could really see how blue the water is

The other end of Lake Louise

A panoramic view

A cave in a mountain we saw on the drive back to Banff

Eating fondue for Father's Day - a perfect end to the best trip ever!
