Berry Fun

Saturday we got up early...mostly because Sage is an early bird...but we were also very excited to go blackberry picking! We tried to go early before it got too hot. We picked about two bucketfuls. Eden was a great picker. Sage decided to sneak into the bucket and help herself to some yummy blackberries. All in all we had fun. The best part? Turning the yummy berries into jam, syrup and other delicious things.

We caught Sage red-handed...literally...isn't she the cutest little berry picker?

Eden was tired and sweaty at the end...such a trooper...look at all those giant yummy blackberries!

The delicious jam....mmmmmmmm

And I have to say that I don't know how I have lived my entire life without having had fresh blackberry pancake syrup....it is simply divine....I may also have to have some on ice cream

Sage is 10 months!

I can't believe my baby is almost 1!!!! Sage has figured out how to clap and now she claps for everyone. She has also decided that she loves to eat! She still doesn't love vegetables, but she eats fruit and chicken nuggets and hot dogs and cheese puffs and cereal bars, pretty much whatever I put in front of her. But I have discovered that her favorite is just a cracker...club crackers or ritz crackers. She has a certain "yell" to ask for crackers. I have to make her eat something else first because this girl would eat her weight in crackers. Maybe I need to make my own crackers using vegetable puree? Hmmmm...there's a thought.

She doesn't have any interest in crawling, but likes to stand and of course loves to sit and play with toys. Anything that has a button to push. We have also discovered that she really love the "itsy bitsy spider" and she claps and claps when we sing it.

Again, I can't believe she is almost a year! I guess I need to start thinking about what kind of cake she would like. Maybe I could make one out of crackers....:)

Eden the photographer

Eden wanted to take some pictures, so I handed her my camera. I especially like Daddy's poses, he never looks that way for me when I take pictures ;)

We Chopped It All Off...

Eden's hair is now short. It makes her look so grown up and oh so cute, don't you agree?

What the Prince Does...

Eden was playing princess dress-up (I mean, is there really anything else more fun?) and of course she had her magic wand out. I was turned into the "handsome prince". I asked her "What does the prince do?"

"Work!" she said.

Now that's my girl. I have brought her up right. Her Daddy agreed. :)

Watch Out Now...She's Got Wheels!

We decided it was time to buy Eden something with wheels. We were thinking a tricycle, but when she tried them out her knees were in her elbows...that girl is soooo tall. So we had to go to a bike with training wheels. Daniel and I were both a little hesitant, but mostly because we think she is growing up way too fast :) She tried out a 16" bike and she rode it around!!! I couldn't believe it, but we ended up with a 12" bike because it was easier for her to control and she still has a little room to grow. Eden has been ecstatic about her new bike and we've taken a few family walks around the neighborhood so she can ride it.

Sage is 9 months!

I can't believe she is already 9 months (almost 10 months as I write this post). At her 9 month check up she was 28 3/4 inches long and weighed 17 lbs 3.5 oz. That puts her in the 95% for height and the 25% for weight. She is going to be long and skinny. This month we finally figured out the baby food thing....she will eat fruit and fruit and sometimes fruit with oatmeal...but if you try to sneak in a vegetable she knows and it doesn't work. No vegetables for Sage. I also tried to introduce her to a sippy cup. Let me just say that all I have to do is hold up a sippy cup with her formula in it and she screams. She definitely has a strong-willed personality (and I know my mother is laughing as she read this). But you can't stay mad at her long with that cute little smile. And she has discovered how to be silly so she can make us laugh...and she's pretty good at it. Right now she is working on her crawling stance. No movement yet, but I'm sure she will figure it out. Eden is grateful she hasn't learned to move yet, although she doesn't yet know it. All in all, Sage gets cuter everyday. We are very blessed to have her in our family.

Beware - Sewing is Dangerous for your health!

Well, technically, its dangerous for Eden's health. I was trying to finish a sewing project and Eden asked if she could have some fruit snack. I told her sure she could go get one. When I finished my sewing project I found A-L-L the fruit snacks that we had strewn about the stairs and Eden had eaten like 7 or 8 packages already and then had a nice "pile" of fruit snacks on the bottom stair. I guess they are technically made with some fruit juice so at least she got all of her fruit servings that day....sheesh. Not a good "mother of the year" kind of day.
