Sage Learns to Roll Over

Sage was playing on her fish mat Christmas Eve and then things got real quiet and I looked over and found her on her tummy, asleep. I guess rolling over for the first time really makes you tired. :)

Christmas Photo Shoot

We had pictures taken this year for our Christmas cards (thanks Ginger!) It was really cold the day we were scheduled so it was a quick session, but we still got some great ones. We took turns with the girls so that they could stay warm. Eden kept asking for her coat the whole time (which was only 10 minutes for the family and her pictures) and Sage was smiling really big for her pictures while she was shivering (what a sweet girl!)

I can't believe that we are now a family of four...this time last year I was super sick. Having Sage here is soooooo much better.
Me and my sweetie...almost 9 years and he is still putting up with me...I am super lucky :)
My sweet husband. He is usually really critical of pictures that he is in, but he actually likes this one, as do I :)

Eden has the best smile and I love her red tights!

Poor little Sage's hand is blurry because she was shivering, but she also gave us an amazing smile

Too Creative

Too creative? Is there such a thing? I will let you be the judge.

We had beans with our dinner tonight. Eden did not want to eat them. She said her fork was an airplane and loaded them on the plane a few at a time.

"All aboard for China!" And then she made the beans get off the plane in "china" while the plane went back to get more. And it gets even better, she started to name the beans. I interrupted and kindly requested that she please eat her beans to which she replied,

"They are my friends. I can't eat my friends."

And then I was done. What do you say to that? I had no reply. In the end I did not make Eden eat her beans (aka "friends"). Score one for Eden. This mommy is still stumped (and laughing of course).

If you have a great reply, I would love to hear it ;)

Work

Work. A four-letter word that starts with w and ends with k. A pretty simple, ever ordinary word that we all experience at some point in life. Well, Eden despises this word. Yep, despise, because this word means that Daddy has to leave the house and all the fun he was having with Eden. Here is Eden's commentary on the word, "work".

"Daddy, where are you going?"

"I have to go to work sweetheart."

"But can't you stay and play with me?"

"No, Daddy has to go to work"

"Can I come with you?"

"No, Daddy has to go by himself."

Then looking over at me, "Mommy, why don't you go to work."

It wasn't a question, it was a suggestion.

The little light bulb came on in her sweet little head and she figured if someone had to go to work, why couldn't mommy? So these were her next words: "Then Daddy can stay and play with me, it will be so fun!"

I couldn't help myself. I started to laugh so hard. Just to see her reason the whole thing out was hilarious. And for the record, I wasn't even remotely offended, who wouldn't want to stay home and play games all day with Daddy? I know I would.
