A HUGE Thank You

A B-I-G thank you goes to Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Ron. Not only did they take care of my yard (front and back) but they also painted for me too! And of course still had lots of fun with Eden (I'm sure that was the best part!) So thanks a bunch for all the help and of course coming to see us...we had such a great time!!!

The front room now has a very lovely accent wall

The new girlie's room....can you tell I like purple?

A Visit to the Butterfly Museum

Grandpa Ron and Grandma Nancy came to visit us for the Memorial Day weekend. We took Eden to the Natural Science museum to the butterfly center. She absolutely l-0-v-e-d it. After we tried to look at some of the other exhibits we had to go back the see the butterflies again.

Eden's Cinderella Dress

Eden calls this her "Cinderella" dress and when she has it on she prances around like a princess. Now if only we could get a fairy godmother or a magic wand....:)

Eden trains to be a Jedi

Eden wanted to wear Daddy-niel's shirt this morning and he thought she looked like a Jedi in it so of course he had her pose for some pictures. All she needed was a light-sabre.

Eden's Special Day

Yesterday when we woke up Daddy-niel said it was Eden's special day and she could do whatever she wanted, so Eden decided we should all go to the zoo. So we got ready and I packed us a lunch and we headed to the zoo. The weather was actually pretty nice and we had a good visit at the zoo. Eden kept requesting which animals she wanted to see. The lions and the tigers were her favorite this time, but we also enjoyed the elephants and the giraffes.

We got a good look at the cheetahs this time

Eden and Daniel by the elephants

Meggan and her belly (28.5 weeks) by the giraffes

Then we bought Eden a little pool to swim in and she had fun "swimming" with Daddy-niel in the front yard. She was fascinated with Daddy-niel's bellybutton and she kept putting water in it and then trying to blow it out.

After she filled up his belly button with water she said "Look! There's goldfish in there!" I guess Daddy-niel's bellybutton is big enough to house goldfish. She has such an imagination. Then it started to rain and it was time to go inside, but I think Eden really enjoyed her special day.

Just showing off

I made a cute birthday card this week and I just wanted to show off my handy work.

Eden eats sushi and uses chopsticks

We went out for sushi earlier this past week. Eden likes going out for Japanese food because she enjoys rice and edamame (steamed soybeans) but she got adventurous this time and tried a piece of sushi. She ate all the rice around the outside and even tried to eat the seaweed, but it was too hard for her to chew. She also tried a piece of pickled ginger which she liked at first until it got "hot"(spicy) in her mouth. Eden also grabbed my chopsticks and tried using them and the waitress noticed and made her some kid ones (spring loaded via the use of a rubber band) and Eden had a great time. Daniel got some pictures and a video clip with his phone so the pictures are a little grainy, but still very cute.

Oh, and the piece of sushi was a California Roll...imitation crab, avacado, and cucumber. I didn't partake in raw fish because I am pregnant....just in case you were concerned ;)

Yes, I am whining

Normally I disapprove of all whining. I don't even let Eden whine and she's 2...but yesterday we discovered that our extra freezer had stopped working. The outlet that it was plugged into had tripped or something stupid like that and all the nice meat that I had worked so hard to buy on sale and freeze for a rainy day was gone. Everything was warm and gross. The freezer still works (so that is a blessing) but we lost everything in it. So I am whining. I am whining because I hate good things to go to waste...a complete waste. Ok, now that I have thrown myself a pitty party I suppose I shall start looking for good deals on frozen chicken and pot roast.

Mother's Day 2009

I had a great Mother's Day. These flowers arrived at my door along with a little box of chocolates a few days before Mother's Day. They smell so good and are really quite beautiful (please disregard my messy, cluttered table). Then on Saturday Eden and Daniel presented me with a balloon and a card. Eden kept saying "Happy Mother's Day!" over and over on Saturday and Sunday, usually when she was playing with my balloon. She would hand it to me every time and say "Look! I got you a present!" It was sooooo cute.

I also got to have breakfast in bed Sunday morning and enjoy sweet kisses and loves from my sweet girl. And then to top it off I got to talk to my brother on the phone. He is currently serving a mission in Argentina and he only gets to call home on Christmas and Mother's Day, and fortunately he got to call his sister's too. So, all in all, the best mother's day yet. I really think it's the best holiday because I love nothing more than to celebrate how much I love my daughters. Plus, all the doting from my sweet husband helps too ;)

They're Cousins...Identical Cousins...

We bought Eden and Allison matching dresses and then we took them to the park to take their picture. Did they cooperate? Of course they didn't, but we had a lot of fun anyway.

Eden said she was dancing, but I am pretty sure she just didn't want her cousin in her lap

This is classic Eden...

And then we had a playful squirrel trying to sneak up on the girls

Eden looks a little tired of getting her picture taken, doesn't she? This was at the end and she really wanted to chase squirrels and play on the slide. We got more "real to life" photos than really frameable ones, but sometimes that is better because the personality shows through ;)...

Cookie Decorating

Lacey showed me how to decorate cookies while she was here. It was really fun, except for the Devil's frosting ....I hate shortening because I feel like it takes forever to get off whatever you put it on...but it does make really nice frosting to decorate with. Here are my first attempts...not too bad if you ask me ;)
A fun assortment
This was the best one I did
For My Daniel, of course

A Visit from Aunt Lacey and Cousin Allison

My sister Lacey and my niece Allison came to visit us for a few days. I hadn't seen Allison yet (she was born in December) so it was really fun to see her and it was also fun for Eden to get some "practice" with her little cousin before her baby sister arrives. We ate lots of good food and laughed a lot at our silly girls. We went out for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and Allison was being loud (her favorite pastime, which I think is adorable) and all of a sudden Eden turned to her and pointed her little finger at Allison and said "Don't dooooo that!" Lacey and I both cracked up. Lacey said Eden gets her bossiness from me. Well, Lacey is bossy too, so I bet Allison will be...they really get it from their Grandma Peggy (sorry mom ;) ) But besides being a little bossy, Eden had a great time with Allison and her Aunt Lacey and so did I. I wish they could visit more often.

Catching Up - A Date with Daddy

A couple of weeks ago I took Eden to the park and I forgot to post the pics. Also, later that night her Daddy took her on her first "date". I had somewhere to go and he decided to take her to the movies to see Earth. She was so excited she has since requested "dates" with Daddy-niel, and of course they had a great time on their date. They made it through about an hour of the movie, which is pretty good for a two year old. She really loved the popcorn, but Daddy-niel said her favorite part about the whole date was getting to play the video games in the lobby before the movie. I hope they can enjoy many more "dates" like that in the future. I definitely don't want her going on any other kind of dates...;)

Out of the Mouth of Eden

Just a few recent Eden funnies:

Yesterday she came around the corner wearing Daniel's shoes and said, "Hi! I'm home from work!"

Tonight at dinner she asked Daddy-niel if he wanted to have a food fight. To which he looked sheepishly at me and said, "No, Eden we would get in big trouble with the principal. We would probably get detention." Yep, and dish duty, and clean the kitchen duty, and whatever other duties I can think of.

Also tonight at dinner, Eden placed a piece of lettuce in her cup of water and said, "Oh, look it floats!" Then she put her spaghetti and the cup and said, "Oh, look it sinks!" We have a little budding scientist. I told Daniel she gets that "experimenting" bug from him and that he is responsible for cleaning up all current and future experiments.

A couple of night ago we were just chillin' with Eden and I asked her to give me a love. She looked right at me with "those" eyes and said, "No! I give Daddy-niel a love!" So like any mother would do I started to fake cry to get her attention hoping I could coax a love from her. She just stared at me (from Daddy-niel's lap I might add) so I stopped crying and asked for another love. She looked at me again with "those" eyes (you know the sassy eyes I mean) and said "Cry!" At that point I lost it and couldn't stop laughing. I did eventually get a love, but I had to "cry" a few more times per little miss sassy's request. But seriously....so funny. I wish I could have captured the look on her face when she told me to cry...I never expected that in a million years.
