Being a Big Sister

The first time Eden met Sage, she got the biggest most beautiful grin on her face. You could tell she was just as happy as we were to have a new member of the family. Sage started to cry not long after she met Eden and Eden knew just what to do. She started to sing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" and Sage quieted right down. Then Eden said "Calm down. Feel better." It. Was. Priceless.

Eden has had no problems adapting to the roll of big sister as shown by the comments and observations below:

On me burping Sage: "Remember to be very gentle. Be soft."

On checking on Sage in her crib: "On no! Baby Sage is missing!" (Sage was downstairs with us, but Eden didn't know and she was very concerned.)

On hearing Sage cry in her crib: Eden picks up random toys each time she cries and throws them in the crib with her. I am assuming for comfort because who doesn't want something nice to play with when you are sad?

On holding Sage (and me trying to help her): "She mine! I hold her myself!"

On hearing Sage cry the other night: "She's crying, go get her!"

Sage, you are very blessed to have such a sweet and attentive older sister. I am sure I will have to remind you of the frequently as you get older.

We are really excited to see Sage again- thanks for letting us come by the hospital to meet her!

Hope you're all well, E&E
