Eden's Latest Antics

Eden keeps us laughing on a regular basis. Here is just a sampling of the recent funnies:

While getting ready for bed one night - "Mom, I don't like bugs. They are too spidery!" (yes, I totally agree) and then without skipping a breath she sticks out her pointer finger and says "I really want a bird to land on my finger!" Yes, that would be totally awesome.

Last night at dinner I asked Eden if she would like to have tacos. "No, tacos are too spicy. Let's go get taco bell!" I asked her what she wanted at taco bell and she made up some gobbledy- gook word for what she wanted that she couldn't pronounce. So then I told her I would make the tacos not spicy and she agreed to eat them. She ate 1.5 tacos...not bad, not bad.

One of her latest bits is pretending to be a parrot named Polly-Polly or having me or Daniel be Polly-Polly. And she asks to feed us crackers, etc. Well yesterday she decided to play with french fries from her happy meal and I was Polly-Polly. She would feed me a fry and I would exclaim "Squawk, yummy fry, squawk!" and of course she giggled. Then it was her turn to be Polly-Polly and I fed her a fry and she said "Squawk, wrong cracker! Squawk, wrong cracker!"
I about fell out of my chair laughing.

I am still constantly amazed at her imagination. It will be really fun to see what her and Sage come up with when Sage learns to talk.

Sisterly Bond

Sage adores Eden and Eden loves Sage. It was made apparent when Sage happened to notice Eden being goofy and giggled (I mean really giggled not just a little laugh) for the first time. Eden can pretty much do whatever she wants to and Sage giggles. The other day Eden was talking to Sage while I was getting Eden buckled into her car seat and of course Sage was giggling and then Sage reached out and grabbed Eden's hand. My two sweet girls holding hands....you could have knocked me over with a feather. Sorry I couldn't capture that on video, but this one is just as sweet. Enjoy!

Snippets of Thanksgiving

I know I am a little late in posting this but I was having too much fun partying over the holidays with my sweet husband and two cute girls that I didn't care about updating my blog...how's that for honesty. Here is what you missed....

Grandpa Brent and Grandma Laura came to visit and we had lots of fun playing hand and foot, farkle (Eden's favorite) and lots of other games. We just enjoyed being together and it was fun to hang out.
Over Thanksgiving weekend we discovered mold under the floor in the master bathroom and behind the shower in the wall...not exactly how I planned to spend Thanksgiving weekend...

...but at least we now have beautiful tile in our bathroom instead and the leak is fixed...hurray for that....and hurray for Grandpa Brent being here and able to help Daniel with a lot of the repairs
And here is just a fun family shot since we don't get too many of all of us together. Some days I am still amazed that we are a family of four, but we couldn't picture our life without Sage...it seems like she has always been with us.

And Don't Forget Brilliant

Yesterday I was talking with Eden and I said, "You sure are cute."

To which she replied, "And brilliant, too!"

Of course, silly of me to leave that out. At least I don't have to worry about her having low self-esteem.

The Setup

I got a phone call the other day while I was at the store. It was Daniel and he was in a state of shock, this is what went down:

Daniel leaned over Sage's swing to give her a kiss and Sage grabbed his face to give him a love back and then she grabbed his hair and pulled him in further and held him there...he was stuck and while Sage held him captive Eden ran over and grabbed his wallet out of his back pocket.

I didn't believe Daniel as he was telling me this on the phone (of course after he made his escape and recovered his wallet), but he did eventually convince me. These sweet girls of ours already have things figured out. I'm sure if Eden had been able to reach the car keys she would have been headed to the mall before Daddy could even turn around.

All I can say is we are in some serious trouble.
