Then we went to visit the dinosaurs and check out some other cool fossils. Eden kept asking to ride one of the dinosaurs and we told her she couldn't so she replied, "How about just a little one?" I guess they would be fun to ride, but I'm sure the museum people would frown on that.
They were having earth science week and there were lots of hands on stations that all the kids could explore. Eden got to touch some fossils and she even held fossilized dinosaur poop. She kept checking her hands to see if they had poop on them, she didn't quite understand they were rocks. She also got to look through a microscope and make her own "lava lamp" in a test tube. After visiting all the stations she got her very own rock collection, which she is extremely excited about.
Then we headed over to the butterfly section. This is Eden's favorite part of the museum and the one she talks about the most. She always wants to touch the butterflies. The butterflies were very active today and they kept flying over or close to Eden and she would keep hiding behind me when one got close, which I thought was pretty funny for someone who wanted to touch one so badly.
We also got to see some poison dart frogs, behind glass of course. All in all, it was a very fun museum trip. Sage was very good and slept most of the time. Eden had a great time exploring and we began to see the little scientist emerge.
