Daniel received a temporary assignment for work that would put him in Canada at least for the month of June. We were going to be very sad to have Daddy gone for a whole month, so Daniel got permission from his boss for us to join him. And the adventure began! We scrambled to get airline tickets, an appointment at the passport agency, a place to stay, etc. It seemed that for an entire week I was really going to lose my mind - but we made it! And now that we are here, we are so grateful! First and foremost that we get to be together as a family, second that we get to explore a new place, and last to enjoy some cool weather!
Our first adventure took us to Banff National Park - only an hour away from downtown Calgary where we are staying. The Canadian Rockies are AMAZING...simply breathtaking. We are going back this weekend and probably every weekend that we are here :)
First, those little purple coats that the girls are wearing I happened to find on clearance at Kohl's when I was looking for long pajamas for Sage. At $12 each, they have been the best purchase I've made. Totally perfect for this trip when the Canadian weather has been a little unpredictable.
Second, there are many landscape pictures in this post. We just couldn't get enough of the beautiful scenery, and my camera doesn't quite do it justice, but hopefully you will get the idea of how grand, magnificent, etc.everything is.
A little rainy at the beginning of our outing - but that didn't stop us
Lake Minnewanka - love the mist on the mountains
Eden just had to touch the water to see how cold it was
and Sage had to throw rocks into the lake
big-horned sheep...we saw LOADS of wildlife - it was AWESOME
Two Jack lake
Don't you just love the clouds?
Red Ground Squirrel
Daniel being adventurous
An elk (I think)
