Conversations with Sage

Sage has started talking more. It has been fun and funny to say the least....let me give you an idea:

Me: What does a cat say?
Sage: Meow. (sometimes we will here her roaming through the house saying meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow...I think it might have been her first favorite word)

Me: What does a duck say?
Sage: quack, quack
Me: What does a cow say?
Sage: Noooooooooo
Me: You mean moooo?
Sage: Nooooooooooo
Me: So what does the cow say?
Sage: Nooooooooo (who knew...we've all had it wrong this whole time)

Me: Sage, what do you want for breakfast?
Sage: A cookie
Me: How about some cereal?
Sage: Nooo! Cookie!!!! (are you surprised....I'm not)
Me: How about a waffle instead?
Sage: Wa-wa! (thank goodness she likes waffles)

Me: Do you love Mommy?
Sage: Daddy
Me: Do you love Daddy?
Sage: (nods her head yes)
Me: Do you love Mommy?
Sage: Daddy
Me: Do you love Eden
Sage: (nods her head yes)
Me: Do you love Mommy
Sage: Daddy - (Mommy gives up)

Also, I hear all day, "Where Daddy?".....and various forms of "Noooo!" and somehow she always seems to find a way to work the word "cookie" into the conversation....the girl has skills.

The Latest Eden-isms

We were driving back from meeting Daniel for lunch and Sage started giggling in the back seat. I wondered out loud why Sage was laughing and Eden pipes up "Probably at your driving."
Gee, thanks. (*and just as a side note - I drive just fine - thank you very much)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Grandma Peggy and BopBop came to visit us last week and it was the day before they had to leave and BopBop was telling Eden that he had to go. She said, "Well Grandma Peggy is sure going to miss you!" If only Grandma Peggy could have stayed, then I wouldn't have had to close down my old lady sweat shop, but that is a whole different story ;)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And tonight at dinner she said, "Daddy when I'm as big as you I will be able to wear your clothes, and then I can be a mommy. And then you will be the grandma and the grandpa."
I'm pretty sure Daniel was close to having a heart attack - and all I could think was why would she want to wear Daniel's clothes? :)

Cookie!!!!

Remember when I said that Sage learned how to say "cookie"? Well, it is her favorite word. If there is a cookie in the house, Sage knows about it and more importantly, she wants it. And not only does she want the cookie....she won't eat anything else but the cookie and she wants the cookie...NOW! So what am I saying? Sage has become the cookie monster. Usually sometime during dinner when she has moved all of her food around and not eaten a bite she starts saying, "cookie." Which then turns into, "cookie, cookie, cookie, cookie, cookie. Cookie! Cookie! COOKIE! COOOOOKIIIIIIIE!"

What to do? Who knows. But the other morning Daniel decided to just skip breakfast and Sage got to have a cookie for breakfast. I guess I need to figure out how to add pureed vegetables to the cookies without her knowing...yeah, right.

Some Post-Christmas activities

Eden playing her new Princess Chutes and Ladders game with her friends Meow, Scotty, and Happy Bear. I think Meow won that game.

Eating giant pancakes

Eating mini pancakes

Eden pulling Sage along in her new "car"

Aren't big sisters the best?

Christmas Part 3

Ok - I just realized that I did not take any pictures Christmas morning. Santa left us a new video camera at the bottom of the stairs that said "Open Me First" and so we took videos all morning instead of pictures...if I can figure out how to get them on here....

But here's the lowdown - We waited for our little alarm clock, aka Sage, to go off at the usual 7am. It didn't take long for Eden to wake up and then we woke up Grandpa and Grandma. Daddy noticed a present at the bottom of the stairs and went to retrieve it. It was a new Flip Video Camera....and it was charged and ready to go. Santa is brilliant!

Once the girls saw the pile of presents they were so excited, especially Eden. Sage was mostly excited because Eden was excited. We all took turns opening presents. Sage was having sensory overload so she started playing with a few presents while Eden opened the rest of hers. Then we decided to take a break and have breakfast, which was our traditional creme brulee french toast...mmmmmmm. Then poor Sage had to have a nap because there had just been too much excitement. After her nap she finally opened the rest of her presents and we put together the few things that needed assembly and then we played and played and played the rest of the day.

So much fun and we all had a great time. We got a lot of movies which went really great with the present that Daniel got for me.....a really cool popcorn maker. So movie night at our house....you bring your favorite snacks and we will provide the movie and the popcorn ;)

Christmas 2010 Part 2

Christmas Eve was packed full of fun things to do. The first thing we did was to pick a present to open. Ya know...get in some practice ;)

Then we had to make and decorate cookies for Santa. Sage also learned how to say "cookie" and only wanted to eat cookies...we had to hide the cookies so she would eat something else. I think she might have a sweet tooth.

Our Christmas Eve tradition is to sit on a blanket on the floor for dinner and eat food that maybe Jesus might have had, such as flat bread, hummus, olives, etc. We just kind of guess plus we want to eat things that the girls will actually eat, but it helps to get them in the spirit of Christmas. Then we watch "Joy to the World" which is a movie about the birth of our Savior and we talk about the real Christmas story. I think it is our very favorite thing to do during the Christmas season. Then everyone gets tucked into bed because Santa can't come if you are awake ;)

Christmas 2010 Part 1

Grandpa Brent and Grandma Laura came to visit us for Christmas. We played lots of games and ate lots of food. We like to play a game called Farkle. It's a dice game and isn't very hard to learn. Eden knows how to play. Eden is also very good and lucky like her Grandpa Brent. The rest of us, not so lucky. The moral of this story? Don't play Farkle with Eden unless you want to lose. :)

Sage wanted to try on Grandpa's glasses....
...then Eden had to try them on

Then Eden wanted to take pictures with the camera....the next ones are pictures that she took.
