The Evening Meltdown

Those of you with children know that there is a certain time (usually evening) that one or more of your children will have a "meltdown" and some nights are better than others. Tonight was one of those nights...

Welcome this evening to Eden's room where Eden is having a meltdown. There is crying and carrying-on and thankfully Daddy is playing ref tonight because mommy is about to tear her hair out (which may have something to do with starting a new diet...I NEED CHEESECAKE!). OK, so back to the crying and carrying-on by Eden:

"Apple Juice!"

"Apple Juice!"

"Please"

"Apple Juice!"

"Thank you, your welcome!"

Mommy runs down the stairs to get the "please, thank you, and your welcome" apple juice. Daddy tries to distract Eden while mommy jumps over the blocks and the cats, runs back up the stairs and presents the "please, thank you, and your welcome" apple juice to meltdown Eden. Eden takes said juice and the house is quiet. Mommy hides in another room and takes a moment to recover from Eden's meltdown so she can laugh at Eden's use of all the magic words. Daddy reads bedtime stories to Eden. Mommy thinks she will live to mother another day. Mommy contemplates diets and thinks they are highly over-rated and not good for the marathon mother-er (anyone with children still living at home). Mommy finishes blog entry and goes downstairs in search of peanut butter M&Ms...
